podcast: rethinking post-colonial language
CARTE BLANCHE is a podcast project I started in my sophomore year that gathers people from different generations, countries, and colonial histories to discuss, reflect and contrast our relationship with colonization.
in this episode, we talk about the most fundamental human tool: language. features world-renowed Kenynan author Nguigi wa Thiong’o (Kenya), socio-linguist Aziz Faty (Senegal), and students from Brazil, Mauritius, Tanzania and Morocco. due the lack of leadership support, this podcast has been put on pause.

zine: urban apartheid in Rabat
an urban photographic exploration of my hometown, Rabat, examining colonial influences, class divisions and cultural negotiations. re-adapted into an educative zine for my course “Urban Life in the Global South”.
portraits: god is a woman
portraits exploring themes of femininity, body, identity, diaspora, culture, tradition and modernity. created as an alternative to an final paper for my course “Global Feminist Liberation movements”. academic analysis “the art of identity” is on the writings page.
documentary: shame passing in Morocco
a mini-documentary exploring the passing of shame in Moroccan women’s education, featuring interviews with my family and the analysis of a popular Moroccan television series.
graphic design: brown undergraduate journal of middle eastern studies
we completely redesigned the journal to reflect its content, audience and cultural intentionality.
zine: Mexican and Moroccan diaspora music
an exploration and comparitive analysis of music on the migration experience in Moroccan and Mexican diaspora. completed for the Spanish course “the Latin diaspora in the US”, in collaboration with a Mexican-American classmate.
